Amerie Mi Marie Rogers, known professionally as Amerie, is an American singer, songwriter, author, and actress. Born on January 12, 1980, in Washington D.C., she first gained fame in the early 2000s with her debut album "All I Have" and its hit single "Why Don't We Fall in Love." Her distinct sound, characterized by a fusion of R&B and hip-hop elements with complex rhythms and horns, helped her stand out in the music industry. Amerie's follow-up album, "Touch," released in 2005, included the hit "1 Thing," which became her biggest hit to date and received widespread acclaim for its unique go-go-inspired production.
