Art Spiegelman is an American cartoonist, editor, and comics advocate best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novel Maus. He is widely credited for bringing comics out of the underground and into the mainstream. He has been a contributing editor and cover artist for The New Yorker since 1992.
