Catherine Clinton is a historian and author specializing in the history of the American South, slavery, and women's history. Her works include Fanny Kemble's Journals, The Plantation Mistress, and Tara Revisited. She is a professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Distinguished Professor of History at the University of Texas at Austin.
