Curtis Sittenfeld is an American author of fiction, nonfiction, and short stories. She is best known for her novels, which include Prep, American Wife, Sisterland, and Eligible. Her work often explores themes of identity, class, and gender. Sittenfeld has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including being named one of the National Book Foundation's "5 Under 35" honorees in 2005.
