David A. Robertson

David Alexander Robertson is a Canadian writer of Cree heritage. Born on April 1, 1977, he is known for his contributions to both young adult fiction and graphic novels. Robertson's work often focuses on educating readers about Indigenous history and contemporary issues, and he has a particular strength in creating compelling stories that foster understanding about the experiences of Indigenous people in Canada. His well-received works include a series of graphic novels called "7 Generations," which explores the lives of a First Nations family spanning three centuries and seven generations. Another of his significant works is the Governor General's award-winning picture book "When We Were Alone," which addresses the history of residential schools in Canada.
