Gertrude Stein

Gertrude Stein (1874-1946) was an American writer, poet, and art collector. She was a central figure in the Parisian avant-garde movement of the early 20th century and is best known for her modernist writings, including the experimental novel The Making of Americans (1925). She also wrote poetry, plays, and essays, and was a major collector of modern art.
