Huston Smith (1919-2016) was an American religious studies scholar and author. He was a professor of philosophy at Washington University in St. Louis and Syracuse University, and was known for his book The World’s Religions, which has been a standard textbook in the field for decades. He is also well known for his work in comparative religion and mysticism, and for his advocacy of interfaith dialogue.
