Jemar Tisby

Jemar Tisby is an African American author, historian, and speaker known for his work on issues of race, religion, and social justice within American Christianity. He is the author of the book "The Color of Compromise: The Truth about the American Church’s Complicity in Racism," which explores the historical intersection of Christianity and systemic racism in the United States. Tisby is also the president of The Witness, a black Christian collective that engages issues of religion, race, justice, and culture from a biblical perspective. He is a sought-after commentator on issues of racial justice and has contributed to various written and media platforms to advocate for social change and reconciliation. Additionally, Tisby holds a PhD in History from the University of Mississippi and he often brings his academic expertise to bear in his writings and public engagements.
