Jerome K. Jerome (1859–1927) was an English writer and humorist, best known for the comic travelogue "Three Men in a Boat" (1889). He wrote plays, essays, and novels, but it was his humorous take on life's absurdities that earned him lasting popularity. Jerome's writing often combined wit with a satirical edge, making light of the human condition and the incongruities of everyday life. Despite the humor in his work, he sometimes touched on more serious social and philosophical issues. His influence can be seen in the works of later humorists and remains a beloved figure in British literature.
