Julie C. Dao is an American author of fantasy and science fiction novels. She is best known for her debut novel, Forest of a Thousand Lanterns, a reimagining of the Snow White fairy tale set in an East Asian-inspired fantasy world. Her other works include the Rise of the Empress series, The Dragon Pearl, and the upcoming Shadow of the Fox trilogy.
