For the dark academia lovers (or those who wish to remain uninitiated into the Grishaverse) start with Ninth House, which follows Yale student Galaxy “Alex” Stern as she explores the tombs of her New Haven school’s secret societies.

To start your dive into the Grishaverse properly, read the Shadow and Bone trilogy first, starting with the title novel and following with Siege and Storm, then Ruin and Rising. From there, move onto the Six of Crows duology: Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom. Move on to the King of Scars duology next, and wrap up with the illustrated standalone novels if you can’t get enough: The Language of Thorns, Demon in the Wood, and The Lives of Saints.
