Paul White (1910-1992) was an Australian missionary doctor and author, best known for creating the "Jungle Doctor" series of children's books. Born in Bowral, New South Wales, White became a medical missionary in Tanganyika (now Tanzania) in the 1930s and was stationed at Mvumi mission hospital. His experiences in Africa inspired him to write stories that could convey Christian teaching and moral lessons through engaging tales set in the African jungle. White's "Jungle Doctor" books were translated into many languages and have been loved by readers around the world for their combination of adventure, humor, and authentic detail about African wildlife and medical challenges. In addition to the series, White also authored radio scripts and other Christian literature.
