Percival Everett is an American writer and Distinguished Professor at USC known for his sharp, experimental explorations of race and identity. The author of over 30 books including Erasure and The Trees, he has received numerous literary awards including the Ivan Sandrof Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2024, his novel James garnered significant attention and won the Kirkus Prize for Fiction. When not writing or teaching, he paints and spends time between Los Angeles and British Columbia.
