Robert Cialdini is an American social psychologist and author of the 1984 book Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion. He is best known for his work on persuasion and compliance, which he has studied for over four decades. He is currently the Regents' Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Marketing at Arizona State University. His research has been influential in the fields of social psychology, social influence, persuasion, compliance, marketing, consumer behavior, and public policy.
