Safiya Sinclair is an award-winning Jamaican-American poet, essayist, and professor. She is the author of Cannibal, which won the 2015 Prairie Schooner Book Prize in Poetry, and is the recipient of a Whiting Award, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, and a Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowship. Her work explores themes of identity, history, and language.
