This book covers the United States men’s and women’s chess championship of 1944, as well as the blitz (lightning) championship, the US open, and the US amateur championship. It has many photos and good notes by such masters as Adams, Denker, Fine, Edward Lasker, and Fred Reinfeld. It is printed on good quality glossy paper, but there is some damp staining of the lower right corner of the pages, which is not particularly noticeable. It has 92 pages and apart from the damp staining, is and otherwise excellent condition. However, I have graded it as good to be conservative. I paid about $25 for this 30 odd years ago, worth about $52 today.
