In W. Bruce Cameron's "A Dog's Courage," Bella, a dog previously lost, lives happily with her humans, Lucas and Olivia, until a wildfire engulfs the Rocky Mountains during a camping trip, separating her from them. Bella must then choose between returning to her people or staying with two orphaned mountain lion cubs, struggling to survive in the wilderness amidst the raging inferno.
