“The Sympathizer is a sweeping epic of love and betrayal. The narrator, a communist double agent, is a man of two minds, half French, half Vietnamese, army captain, who arranges to come to America, after the fall of Saigon, and while building a new life with other Vietnamese refugees in Los Angeles is secretly reporting back to call me. This appears in Vietnam.” I enjoyed reading this book, however please be warned that some parts are rather graphic. I would not advise if for anyone who struggles to read instances of violence or SA. Overall a unique and interesting perspective and style of writing. If you like books where your unsure if you can trust the narrator and enjoy historical fiction, I’d recommend this read. The book itself is in pretty good shape with some mild water damage that caused the pages to spread, as shown in the images.
