St. Germain, Casanova, and Count Cagliostro were all contemporaries. Cagliostro was one of the eighteenth century adventurers who roamed Europe sometimes acting as alchemists, mystics, or healers. But in any case, there was a lot rogue in Count Cagliostro. This is a rather rare book that I found in an old New Orleans used bookstore.
