Here we have two vintage Penguin Classics of ancient history: The Histories, by Herodotus The Annals of Imperial Rome, by Tacitus Herodotus lived in the 5th century BC, and his histories primarily focus on ancient Greece and their struggle against the Persian empire. This version is translated by Aubrey De Selincourt. and was printed in 1965. Tacitus lived in the first century AD, and his Annals cover the reigns of emperors Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius and Nero. This edition was translated by Michael Grant, and was printed in 1982. Both books have significant edge wear, cocked spines, and toning on the pages. There are no rips, creases or markings inside.
