Here we have an antique cloth-bound hardcover from the Celebrated Crimes series by Alexandre Dumas. This volume is The Borgias: Vol. II. It was translated by I. G. Burnham and illustrated by Jacques Wagrez, of Paris. The only copyright date provided is 1895, but I suspect this edition was printed somewhat later. There is edge wear at the corners, at the head and tail of the spine, and some rubbing wear on the tail of the text block. There is brown toning on the pages. A previous owner's name is written with pen inside the front cover. There is significant staining/discoloration on several pages, chiefly toward the beginning of the book. I have included images of several pages, and while this is primarily present on the first dozen pages, there are infrequent stains elsewhere.
