beautifully frustrating. Zafón can write, there's no doubt about it, but the descriptions and treatments of women in this book really really irked me especially as they played such a big part in the plot. what a letdown.

I still think about this book on a regular basis. It has some of the best writing ive read, its so impressive the way the author can weave together every little aspect of the book so perfectly. A great mystery with multiple plot twist I could’ve never guessed.
