For centuries stitchery in its many forms has been employed as an embellishment for fabrics of all kinds. Essentially a hand craft, embroidery adds a uniquely personal touch that may be even more satisfying than the completed project it is decorating. Whether sophisticated and slick or gently rustic, embroidery provides its own rich counterpoint of color and texture. This book is meant to be an introduction and guide to the basic techniques of stitchery.
