This book has been enjoyed. Its cover is worn and wrinkled.  There is a tear on the top of the spine on the outside.  There is a piece of old masking tape on the cover that I will not take off.  It’s adhered strongly and I do not want to damage the cover more. The pages are all intact and attached to the spine but there is some wear and visible glue on the first page where it is attached to the spine  (See photos). It can be read and handled without further making worse but it will require care and a gentle hand.

No jacket.  Book itself is in good shape.  No major damage to spine or pages.  Can be read and handled with no concern.

This book does not appear to have been handled much!  It’s in excellent shape and ready to handled and read!

The Austin Boys Marooned (1944)

This is a retired library book so there is one Sharpie on the first page (which has no words) which blacks out the library information.  The book doesn’t appeared to have been handled much and is in excellent shape!  No major or minor damage that I can see.

Ken South of the Border (1947)

The book is in good shape!  There are some minor tears on the jacket (see photos) and the pages and spine are intact and strong.  It can be read and handled with no fear of damage.

Margot Van Voorhies was an American in the mid-twentieth century who went to Taxco, Mexico, and established a jewelry design business best known for exquisite enamel work. This fascinating book relates the pains of her childhood and eventual refuge in Mexico, where she developed an artistic talent into the Margot de Taxco workshop, that employed hundreds of artisans, particularly including women. Her associations with Taxco silversmiths, who were taught by innovator William Spratling, became the springboard for her own development and success. Margot's designs are distinctive, often based on spiral motifs inspired by vines and floral imagery. Glorious colored enamels in brilliant hues and original designs distinguish her work. Today, Margot Van Voorhies is considered one of the most productive silver artists in Taxco of the mid-20th century. Her legacy is featured here also, in the work of four contemporary artists who strive to create equally superior modern silver jewelry in Taxco.
