I was a preschool teacher and am now retired. One of the currently burning forest fires is 40 miles south of us. Another is 30 miles east of us. Please pray for our friends and former colleagues who are being evacuated from their homes or enduring thick fog like smoke many miles away from the burning. We are grateful we made it through Helene safely, with our home undamaged after 14 days without water or electricity. So many people lost everything, including loved ones.
