This book is a reprint of the original edition of the United States chess championship from 1880. It was marred by the first major chess cheating scandal. This volume is beautifully bound in mock leather stamped in gold on the covers and contains 539 pages. It also has all the tournament games, and historical survey of the earlier chest congresses as well as biographical sketches and 128 problems. This is a far superior book to the cheaper Indian reprint paperbacks.
