Blamed for a tragic accident during maneuvers, JW finds himself bringing his best friend's little brother home with a flag draped over him. Being back for the first time since the car accident four months ago that killed his grandparents who raised him, JW soon finds out his longtime girlfriend Hanna and best friend Isaac are in love with each other. After several challenging meetings with them that leave him broken and bruised, and after getting a hole in his side from a pool stick, a fistfight with a priest, and a gut-wrenching meeting with the young lady that killed his grandparents, JW has to come face-to-face with ghosts from his past and help from men from his Special Forces unit to find out if he can keep his childhood oath to Isaac and Hanna and be best friends till death do they part
